CARTER'S BAY Located on the south end of Manitoulin
Island, this phenomenal bay fronts 17 km of Lake Huron
shoreline. Known for its sand dunes, seclusion, and cool
waters, visitors say it's more like visiting a tropical
paradise, than an island in the true north.
MC LEAN'S PARK This 100-acre park, located between
Manitowaning and South Baymouth, features hiking trails
based on ancient logging paths, and a
mountain bike run.
10 MILE POINT 10 Mile Point is a scenic lookout and the site of the original Jesuit
mission to Manitoulin Island in 1648. There is also an art gallery and bookstore. It is located about 20 minutes north of
Manitowaning and is one of Manitoulin Island's most popular attractions.
POW WOW Every year the Wikwemikong Heritage Organization hosts a Pow Wow on the
Wikwemikong Unceded Indian Reserve, about 15
kilometers from the Spirit's Den. Wikwemikong Heritage
Organization is commiteed to preserving and enhancing
the Anishnabeg Indian
culture.

PROVIDENCE BAY Providence Bay is a little village
community on Lake Huron about forty-five minutes from
Manitowaning, with large sandy beaches, a children's
play area, gift shops and restaurants, an "Interpretive
Center", picnic areas and an extensive boardwalk.
ROCK CLIMBING The Cup and Saucer Trail, located about 18 km west of Little Current,
is one of the most popular hiking and rock climbing areas in
Ontario. It has 12 kilometers of hiking trails, a 2 kilometer
adventure trail and 2 kilometers of 70-meter cliffs, ideal
for rock climbing (class 1 to class 5.13a).
GORE BAY Many people are attracted to Gore Bay for it's
unique beauty and sailing waters. It is a quaint town
about 90 kilometers from Manitowaning, which boasts
naturally granite shores and green foliage, along
with homes dating back to the 1800's.
BIRD WATCHING Manitoulin Island provides ideal habitats for many different variety of
birds. In the spring, the island is a stop over place for birds as they head north, and for some species, it is where the will
settle for the summer. Some varieties that can be seen are savanna sparrows, upland sandpipers, great blue herons, sharp-tailed
grouse, short-eared owls, plovers, grasshopper sparrows, western meadowlarks, peregrine falcons, hawks, warblers, orioles,
hummingbirds and
sand-hill cranes.
BRIDAL VEIL FALLS Walk or swim along the falls or have a
picnic in the rest area. The falls are located in Kagawong,
about 90 kilometers from Manitowaning. A scenic area with
some great photo opportunities.
